Originally from Liverpool but now based in Glasgow, Rekha is a full-time Architect, who spends her spare time making. She finds the process of creating her candlestick holders more instantaneously rewarding as they are realised a lot quicker than the design and construction of a building! Everything that Rekha designs goes through numerous stages to reach a place where she is happy with the end result. She begins by making formwork out of plastic bits and pieces to make a first cast. Often this stage is repeated a few times, and tweaked until she is happy with it. The next step is to sand and polish up a 'master' cast to make a silicone mould. Once she has a mould, repeated items can then be poured! Some of the more complex designs are done in CAD to ensure that they'll work.
